This does NOT work with the Nikon D5100 if you are trying to see what you're going to shoot as there is not USB cable that plugs into the camera that they send with the CamBuddy Pro.

Did you take this thing apart to see what powers it? I have a pretty good idea of what's under the hood, but would like to know what this is running on hardware/software-wise. Do they provide their firmware anywhere?

Yes, we found using the app took some guesswork and patience.

Interesting, this review was also done with Version 2.0.4, for Android.

Didn't have time to test the flash, unfortunately.

What version of the app are you using? Your screen captures don't look anything like what I with my version 2.0.4: no initial modes display; different display for intervalometer, no percentage for the sound trigger...

This has not been my experience. The application is unstable and crashes constantely. None of the stated features are "field functional" meaning use them on your projects. Radio Remote Control is DOA. The company is not available for support. Suggest do not purchase until the company can proove they are reliable and available to support customers.

did you try to use the flash?
